Our official grand opening of the Mutton Creek Getaway vacation rental property was back in October 2021, after three months of renovations. Since then, we have hosted many guests as well as gatherings for friends and family.
Based on customer recommendations and our observations, we continue to make changes and improvements. On a 20-acre property, there is always something to do.
This weekend, we finished setting up the RV site. A full service hook-up, the single campsite has water, sewer, and 30 or 50 amp electrical hookup. A picnic table and firepit are also provided. Just four miles from Mutton Creek Marina, the RV site can be rented nightly, weekly, or monthly.
While at the cabin this weekend, we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to capture the scenery over the lake, but I did get a great picture at Son Sac Depot gas station and convenience store, located about two miles from Mutton Creek Getaway and vendors of Hunts Brothers Pizza. We love the “loaded” pizza!
Overall, its been a great experience as owners of a vacation rental property so far. My favorite part is getting to know the guests and providing a relaxing retreat for them. Most guests have been from Independence, Kansas City, Springfield, Neosho, and Joplin areas. This is what our first guests said:
“Awesome, secluded cabin in a beautiful setting. Everything is new, so organized and beautifully decorated, along with personal touches down to the owner’s framed photographs. Their hard work and attention to detail definitely shows! Communication with the owners was always great, even including a personal note for us. We’ve stayed at many airbnb’s and vrbo’s, but this one went above and beyond our expectations. It’s a hidden gem, but it won’t stay that way for long. Highly recommend it!”
