Since opening our vacation rental property last fall, we have enjoyed decorating and hosting guests for several holidays. The first holiday guest was on Halloween in which a sweet family with their kids carved a jack-o-lantern and sent this cute picture.
During Thanksgiving, two families with five kids and nine total people celebrated the holiday at Mutton Creek Getaway. Our full kitchen provides an empty full sized fridge, a bonus fridge in the kitchenette, basic cooking supplies, many extra condiments and such, plus ample cabinet storage and counter space. As the usual host of our family holiday gatherings, I can certainly see the appeal of hosting at an already-clean home where everyone can hang out together.

In fact, that’s what we did for Christmas: hosted Christmas at the cabin! Our adult kids, along with their spouses and babies, spent the night Christmas Eve, and we got to experience our grandsons’ first Christmas mornings. There were some memorable “Hallmark Moments” that weekend! 🙂

In January, snowmen de’cor adorned the cabin while the real stuff was on the ground. We caught these great pictures of whitetail deer on the game camera but are still looking forward to experiencing our first snowy visit at the cabin.

Currently, we’re hosting a couple for their wedding anniversary and early Valentines, and looking forward to more holidays and gatherings at Mutton Creek Getaway — both hosting guests as well as friends and family.
